Colophon

This website acts as an online playground and rambling spot for of the webmaster.

Some notes on this site:

On the technologies used:

  • It is built using hugo, a static site generator.
  • Only in a few spots it relies on JavaScript, namely Books and Places.
  • Source code is currently stored in a private repository in Gitlab.com and it is being built and served by Cloudfare Pages. Previously it has been hosted in GitHub Pages, GitLab Pages and Fastmail.
  • Some few statistics are collected just for fun. No other use is or will be done with them. They can be seen in the following Umami dashboard.

On the style:

  • Initially, it used the hugo-bearblog theme, with a MIT License. Some parts remain, but much has been changed. Many thanks to the original author.
  • Currently, the font in use is whichever you have as default in your system. Other fonts that have been used in the past are: Alegreya, Atkinson.
  • The background picture was taken by the webmaster in a forest somewhere in Finland, in a family trip.

On the use of AI: the author prefers not to use LLMs when coding as he actually enjoys coding and is aware of the ethical, ecological, economical and political implications of LLMs. Despite that, he sometimes relies on private proxies to ask questions when he is lost solving a problem in a technology he is not familiar with.

Finally, words and text here only reflect the opinions of the webmaster, not his employer or any other organization he is a member of.
